It is a fact that one of the cornerstones to any website’s success is content, and lots of it. The search engines feed on content and the more good content a website has, the more opportunity there is to keep visitors surfing the site longer.

It is also a fact that creating fresh and unique content and thinking of new content ideas is one of the more difficult jobs for the webmaster when learning  how to make websites.

12 Ways to Get Inspired and Get New Ideas for Website Content

1. Keyword Question Tool – This is a cool free tool from Keyword Tracker, that displays questions that surfers are searching for related to a particular main keyword. A great way to get ideas to write about.

3. Magazines – Your website topic and niche related paper magazines and newspapers are great sources for website content ideas.

4. Related Forums and Discussion Boards - Great places to find ideas to write about from members questions and discussions.

5. Google Alerts – Google will send you alerts from around the web, from sites, blogs and news networks whenever your search parameters come up. So sign up with Google Alerts, add your keywords and you will get lots of alerts in your mailbox with related news and stories that you can use to get ideas for website content!

6. Subscribe to Brand/Industry Blogs – Most all brands have a website and most all of them have relevant feeds and blogs. They will alert you to news, product releases and other info that will provide lots of content ideas.

7. Niche Blogs – Subscribe to related niche blogs.

8. Competitor Sites and Blogs – Your competitors, especially those that are popular and rank high in Google can be a great source of website content ideas. Don’t copy, just use their stuff to get inspired.
